Sheri Smith

MULTIDISCIPLINARY

Sheri Smith began dancing at the age of ten and has trained in various studios throughout Southern California in ballet, tap, jazz and lyrical. Her training is from well-known instructors; DeLanzer Huggy Ford, Leslie Clifford, and former principle dancers of Moscow Classical Ballet, Victor and Tatiana Kasatsky. In addition to her love for dance, Sheri found joy in teaching. She was fifteen when she began teaching tap, jazz, and ballet at her local studio.

At twenty years old, Sheri was hired by Stiletto Entertainment which gave her the opportunity to travel the world and perform as a professional dancer aboard Holland America Cruise ships.  During her four years with Holland America, she worked with well-known dancers and choreographers: Tommy Tune, John Charron, and Patti Colombo.  Sheri’s dancing career then led her to American Music Theatre in Lancaster, PA.  In 2005, Sheri became a Radio City Rockette and performed in the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall in New York for two seasons.  She also enjoyed the opportunity to work in Tokyo, Japan as a dancer for Disney.

After moving back to Southern California, Sheri has been teaching ballet, jazz and tap to students who range in age from three to young adults. She is married with four kids and enjoys   spending time with her family.  Going to the beach, yoga, and chocolate are some of the things Sheri also enjoys. She is excited to be apart of On Pointe Dance Studio and watch her students grow. Sheri says, “It is extremely rewarding getting to know each student and watch them develop into great dancers and performers.”
